Koi Osmanthus Jelly

Ingredients

50g pre- sweetened Konnyaku jelly powder to 250ml of water. (You may purchase pre- mixed konnyaku powder with flavour to add to the variety of the taste you like).

1 pack of Agar Agar powder

2L Water

2 tsp of dried Osmanthus flower

3 tsp of wolfberries, soaked in water till puffy

Directions for the Koi

  1. In a pot, add 1000ml of water to Corningware casserole and bring to a boil. After the water is boiled, lower the heat and add in konnyaku jelly.
  2. Stir until the powder is fully dissolved. Add orange colouring. Turn off the flame.
  3. Pour the liquid into a Koi mould.
  4. Put in refrigerator.

Directions for the Osmanthus Jelly

  1. Using Corningware casserole with 1L of water, add in the Agar- Agar jelly powder and Osmanthus flowers and stir until the powder is fully dissolved. Turn off the flame.
  2. Pour the liquid into a rectangular Pyrex dish.
  3. Scatter wolfberries around randomly around the dish.
  4. Put in refrigerator.

Directions for putting them together

  1. Remove the Pyrex dish from the fridge. Place the Koi fishes on top of the Osmanthus jelly.
  2. Decorate it with tadpoles and sesame seeds.
